A job share position based in the centre of Southampton, working two days per week (Wednesdays and Thursdays), or possibly 3 days, we are looking to recruit a qualified Solicitor who has strong experience in dealing with site acquisitions on behalf of residential and commercial land developers.
Whilst my Client's core hours are 9 - 5, with one hour for lunch, the individual must have the willingness to work hard and, where necessary, put in extra hours to facilitate progress on and completion of transactions. There may be occasions when cover on other days is required to cover absence.
It is likely that this role would be offered on a short term basis for up to six months initially, with the option to become permanent once the job share arrangement has proved satisfactory, both in terms of the Land Development team and the service provided to clients. The Department needs as much consistency and stability as possible and it is important therefore that potential candidates want to work part-time for the forseeable future, and not use this opportunity as a stop gap until they are able to secure a full time post.
An interesting position, you will support partners with site acquisitions for residential/commercial land developers; deal with planning appeals/judicial reviews, planning, highway and other development agreements; joint ventures/collaboration agreements; options and pre-emptions; disposals to other developers; housing associations; conditional contracts; sale of freehold reversions; support, where necessary, to the Estate Development and the Plot Sales teams including assisting with setting up estate documentation and dealing with ongoing estate matters such as road agreements, sewer agreements, sub-station transfers/easements, management companies, etc; part-exchange work and other property transactions.
Candidates will have experience in property work, ideally in estate development, the ability to react quickly to the clients' requirements, and will have good organisational, technical and communication skills. We need someone who has the capability to make a job share work seamlessly in order to continue providing an excellent service to clients.
